Terms and duration
Five ways to partner
1. Technical and financial proposal (3 to 6 months)
When our industrial partner intends to enhance an existing and mature technology endorsed by our researchers’ expertise. The collaboration time is short. It can however lead to patent filing whose implementation conditions will be defined between the partners.
2. Project collaboration agreement (6 to 12 months)
The objective is to set up a new product or service from specific technological development. An agreement is signed for the whole collaboration including IP (Intellectual Property) management.
3. Billateral collaboration (1 to 3 years)
The billateral collaboration is best adapted when the industrial partner wishes to innovate on a large scale topic, working on several technological subjects in the meantime. We, both partners, share a development roadmap and conduct successive 12 months projects, with results delivered as they appear.
4. Innovation lab (2 to 3 years)
The global frame is similar to the billateral collaboration (3) except that here both partners create a common team (Industrial partner staff + List staff). This common team shares facilities, methods and equipment in the frame of a collaboration agreement that also defines common governance rules.
5. Strategic partnership (3 to 5 years)
The industrial partner defines a global development roadmap with CEA Tech. This collaboration agreement brings the opportunity to create joint laboratories with CEA Tech three research institutes: List, Leti (micro and nanotechnologies) and Liten (new technologies for energy).
Our partnerships’ distribution
About 50% of CEA Tech List institute industrial partners choose the technical and financial proposal (1) or the project collaboration agreement (2) more focused on operational actions and reactivity.
The billateral collaboration concerns 25% of our partnerships, the innovation lab and the strategic partnership, 15% each. These formulas that aim at ambitious and strategic goals are framed by a strict management of confidentiality.
"Any kind of industrial partnership needs flexibility. We propose several formulas of collaboration but we do not impose any and furthermore, the chosen one can still evolve in time."
