April 26, 2013 | RB3D takes home innovation award for collaborative robotics at Industrie 2013 trade show
RB3D’s A6.15 cobot earns kudos for ergonomics at Industrie 2013 trade show innovation awards
France’s first full-fledged industrial cobot, the A6.15 developed by RB3D with support from CEA List and Cetim, came in ahead of 18 other projects in running for the Ergonomics Award at the Industrie 2013 trade show in Lyon, France on April 16–19.
The cobot – an “assistant” offering operators unrivalled maneuverability and ease-of-use – eliminates fatigue, improving both concentration and accuracy.
Operators can choose from six autonomy settings, each with its own motor (a mere 250 watts) offering human-equivalent power and the capacity to multiply the force exerted by an operator by up to a factor of ten. The cobot – which meets EU safety requirements – represents a major innovation in terms of reducing occupational hazards like repetitive stress injuries.
